Believe it or not the Lakewood church was once a basketball stadium, and was this way until Joel Osteen and Victoria knew that it had to be there’s for the ministry. It cost 18 million in 1975 to build so imagine what it is worth now, just amazing place it is.

Joel Osteen leased it up until 2010 when the ministry had enough money to purchase it outright. Amazingly enough he bought it for 7.5 million, so praise god, only through Jesus was this miracle made. If you ever go to a service at the Lakewood Church you will notice it first for it’s size, and for the fact that 40,000 people go there to different services every week, really making it the largest in the United States.

Lakewood Church also does a lot for the community and the world in the Lakewood Church, from feeding the poor to healing the sick. Feeding the Hungry- helping those in need in Houston where the Church is, also in New York, helping homeless with clothing and medical needs and most of all food for people. The Lakewood church is also helping in other countries like Africa.

Healing the Sick- Joel Osteen ministries and the Lakewood church is helping people with vaccinations places like Africa where people cannot afford this treatment, also in abandoned baby centers and also run centers for troubled teans.about-joel-osteen1

It is extremely important when you are in ministry to give to people that really need it, so many countries have nothing, and when you are rich you can help the poor, Lakewood Church does give money to these causes Proverbs 22:9 – He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Acts 20:35 – I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Luke 12:33 – Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
